Expand the measurement functionality with MSI
With our modular smart interfaces (MSI) you expand the functionality of your TRION(3), PU[REC] and NEX[DAQ] inputs. Each MSI is a signal conditioner designed for a dedicated sensor type and gets automatically detected and set up. Extend the measurement capability to charge, LVDT or thermocouple input or to extend the measurement modes to bridge, etc.
HOW DOES MSI WORK?
Each MSI is a signal conditioner designed for a dedicated sensor type. By reading the TEDS chip, the DAQ system gets any necessary information to adjust the amplifier accordingly. Don’t worry – you automatically get the right measuring ranges with the right unit displayed. For traceability, essential data like MSI type and serial number are stored into your data files.

MSI CONNECTOR BOX
The TRION-x-dLV-CB16-D9 is a feature expansion box for TRION-1802-dLV-32 and TRION-1600-dLV-32 modules.
It supports up to 16 D-SUB-9 sockets for analog inputs or the use of our MSIs as well as precision ±5 V excitation voltage with remote sense per channel. The TRION-x-dLV-CB16-D9 also features a CAN and digital I/O interface as well as an auxiliary sensor supply.
It enables the measurement of strain gauge and bridge sensors, IEPE®, LVDT and RVDT, thermocouple, charge, RTD and voltage up to 600 VRMS. All MSIs are compatible with this box.

MSI2-STG
The MSI2-STG is a highly dependable conditioner, engineered specifically for the measurement bridge sensors. This MSI can be set via jumpers to support full, half or quarter bridge sensors with an excitation of either 5 V or 10 V. In the case of quarter bridge sensors, the completion resistance can be set to 120 Ω or 350 Ω. Measurements up to 50 m between are possible due to the build in amplifier of the MSI.

MSI2-LVDT
The MSI2-LVDT is a highly dependable conditioner, engineered specifically for the measurement of displacements via LVDT sensors in 5- or 6-wire configuration. The MSI provides the required sine wave sensor excitation in three modes depending on jumper configuration of 2.5 kHz, 5 kHz and 18 kHz. The sensitivity of the MSI can be tuned by a gain potentiometer, which relates the stroke end length to the output voltage. Further scaling, e.g. two point, can be done in the OXYGEN software.

MSI2-BR-ACC
The MSI2-BR-ACC is a precise and reliable conditioner designed for Integrated Electronics Piezo-Electric (IEPE®) accelerometers. Engineered for high performance, this modular smart interface delivers precise measurements with an accuracy of 0.2 % within the frequency range of 30 Hz to 30 kHz.

MSI2-CH-x
The MSI2-CH-x is a reliable and precise conditioner designed for measuring electrostatic charges. Depending on the model selected, the modular smart interface offers an input range of ±5000 pC (MSI2-CH-5) or ±100,000 pC (MSI2-CH-100) and is therefore suitable for various applications.

MSI2-250R-20mA
The MSI2-250R-20mA is a highly dependable conditioner, engineered specifically for the measurement of currents with loop powered sensors, which require a voltage excitation (AUX power). Due to the connection via push-in springs, no soldering is required to connect the current sensor to the MSI.

MSI2-TH-x
The MSI2-TH-x from DEWETRON, a versatile and robust conditioner designed for precise thermocouple measurements. This modular smart interface extends the capabilities of DEWETRON DAQs, making them compatible with various thermocouple types and ensuring reliable data in challenging environments.

- Thermocouple compatibility: Supports type K, J, and T thermocouples by default. Non-standard types such as C, E, R, and S can be integrated upon request.

MSI2-BR-RTD

This modular smart interface ensures accurate and reliable data and uses differential input to reduce noise and enhance measurement precision.
