Data Privacy Policy

We at DEWETRON value the privacy of our visitors and partners. This privacy policy explains how DEWETRON (“we”, “our organization”, “us”) processes personal data when you use our websites or interact with our products and services.

As DEWETRON is part of the Anritsu Group, data protection is governed by both the group-wide privacy policy of ANRITSU CORPORATION and this company-specific privacy notice.

The ANRITSU policy provides the overarching framework for data protection within the group, while the DEWETRON policy below describes the specific processing activities and additional information relevant to DEWETRON.

ANRITSU GROUP PRIVACY POLICY

This is the privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) of the ANRITSU CORPORATION and its Group Companies (“Anritsu”, “Anritsu Group Companies”, “we”, “us” or “our”). Whenever dealing with one of the Anritsu Group Companies, the controller of your personal data will be the company that decides how and why your personal data is processed.

We recognize our social responsibility to appropriately protect the personal data of all individuals we have dealings with, including our customers, shareholders/investors, business partners and employees, and as such, we have adopted the following Privacy Policy and will take all possible measures to ensure the proper handling and protection of personal data in our possession.

  1. Anritsu will strictly comply with all applicable laws, regulations and other social standards concerning the protection of personal data.
  2. Anritsu will properly administer personal data by appointing a person in charge of overall control of personal data and by placing a personal data administrator in each department that handles personal data.
  3. Anritsu will educate its officers, staff and other personnel with regard to the protection of personal data.
  4. Anritsu will collect, use and provide personal data in an appropriate manner. Specifically:
    1. We will collect personal data in an appropriate and fair manner, clearly stating the intended use at the time of collection;
    2. We will use personal data only for the purposes specified in notifications or public announcements, or that were made clear at the time of collection, except in cases where permissible by applicable laws;
    3. We will not collect special categories of personal data, except in cases where advance explicit consent of the person concerned has been obtained or where permissible or required by applicable laws;
    4. We will not provide personal data to third parties other than to Group Companies or their service providers, except in cases where advance consent of the person concerned has been obtained or where permissible or required by applicable laws;
    5. In cases where personal data is provided to third parties, or received from third parties, we will keep appropriate records of such sharing or transferring in compliance with all applicable laws; and
    6. In cases where personal data is provided to service providers or others, we will take appropriate measures, in the form of a written contract or otherwise, to ensure that adequate safeguards are put in place to protect your personal data.
  5. Anritsu will respond reasonably and appropriately to requests from individuals regarding their own personal data, upon confirming their identities.
  6. Anritsu will take all appropriate, reasonable and possible individual, physical, technical, and operational measures to ensure that personal data is handled safely and shall use its best efforts to prevent unauthorized access to leakage or loss of personal data.
  7. From time to time, Anritsu will review this policy and associated company regulations and operating procedures, making revisions and improvements on an ongoing basis. Please refer to the latest version online.

DEWETRON GROUP POLICY

1. WHAT DATA DO WE COLLECT?

We collect different types of data, depending on the type of service and page you are using. Besides the obvious data that is collected through forms on the webpages (like name and email address) we also use Google Analytics to get insight into how visitors use our websites. The following data will be collected behind the scenes:

  • the timestamp of your visit
  • the title and URL of the page being viewed
  • the URL of the page viewed prior to the current page
  • the screen resolution
  • page generation time
  • main language and user agent string of the browser
  • which newsletter did you receive and read, and what links did you click

 

2. HOW DO WE COLLECT DATA?

We collect data when you:

  • register online for one of the services provided by us
  • place an order for one of our products or services
  • use or view one of our websites using a tracking JavaScript
  • send us a message through one of the feedback/contact forms provided.
  • sign up to our newsletter and interact with the links in received emails
  • sign up for one of our webinars

We may also receive data about you from LinkedIn if you have allowed LinkedIn to share your personal data with third parties.

 

3. HOW DO WE USE YOUR DATA?

We use your data so we can:

  • process your order
  • email you with our newsletter or special offers on products you might like (only if you gave us your consent)
  • contact you about quality issues or regarding feedback for our services (if you are a customer and purchased one of our products or services recently)
  • track your webpage visits and see which pages you like to be able to make more quality content (only if you consent to our tracking cookie)

 

4. WHERE DO WE STORE YOUR DATA?

Data about webpage visits is stored using Google Analytics. Visitors’ IP addresses are always anonymized. When you allow us to track you, we will be able to recognize your browser on subsequent visits. Google is using their European datacenters to store your data securely.

Customer data and data about your purchased products and services are stored and processed using Salesforce Inc. using their European datacenters (located in Frankfurt and Paris).

Data collected using our online forms is stored and processed using the Salesforce Inc. Marketing cloud also using their European datacenter locations as mentioned above.

 

5 . NEWSLETTERS, WEBINARS AND EMAIL SURVEYS

If you have subscribed to our newsletter service, we will send your newsletter using a third-party mailing service provided by Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement. Your interaction with the sent newsletters as well as subsequently visited pages on our website are also tracked by Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement. You can opt out at any time using the links provided in the sent emails.

If you have registered for one of our Webinars, your personal data is shared with webinargeek.com for the technical handling of the webinar and participant management. Who participated in which webinar is processed using the Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement.

If you have recently purchased one of our products or services, our quality department might contact you about quality issues or send you an invitation for a customer survey. Surveys are done by surveymonkey.com but no personal data is collected or required to finish those surveys. Your answers will help us to provide you with even better services.

 

6. HOW DO WE USE COOKIES

Cookies are text files placed on your computer to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information. When you visit our websites, we may collect information from you automatically through cookies or similar technology.

DEWETRON uses cookies in a range of ways to improve your experience on our website, including:

  • store your cookie consent and allow you to change these settings
  • store your language preferences
  • allow us to track you using Google Analytics and Salesforce Marketing Cloud Engagement
  • allow us to show you externally stored content from our YouTube channel

7. PRIVACY POLICIES OF OTHER WEBSITES

The DEWETRON Websites contain links to other websites and, occasionally, embeds content from other websites (like videos, social media posts and others). Our privacy policy only applies to our websites accessible on dewetron.com (including all subdomains) and all pages accessible on dewetron.cloud (including all subdomains). Content from thirdparty websites will only show up after accepting those third-party privacy policies.

As DEWETRON is part of the Anritsu Group, certain group-wide services and systems may fall under Anritsu Group privacy frameworks. Where applicable, the following additional privacy policies apply: the Takasago (Anritsu Group) Privacy Policy [2] and the Anritsu Global Data Privacy Policy [1].

 

8. TRANSFERRING YOUR DATA OUTSIDE THE EU

As a global company, DEWETRON has subsidiaries and affiliates located outside the European Union (EU). In order to provide our customers with the best possible service, we may need to transfer customer data to these subsidiaries or affiliates, particularly if they are responsible for serving customers in a specific region.

You can find a list of our subsidiaries and partners on our website in the “Contact Us” page.

Whenever data is transferred outside the EU we will do so in a secure way (for example only using our internal network or services provided by us) and only those data that is required for the actual business case. All our partner contracts contain rules to make sure that personal data is protected.

 

9. HANDLING OF DATA BREACHES

In the event of a data breach, DEWETRON will take immediate action to contain and mitigate the breach, in accordance with the requirements of the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSGVO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Notification procedure

In the event of a data breach that is likely to result in a high risk to the rights and freedoms of natural persons, DEWETRON will notify the Austrian Data Protection Authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde) without undue delay, and in any case within 72 hours of becoming aware of the breach.

In addition, DEWETRON will notify affected customers without undue delay, providing them with the following information:

  • a description of the nature of the breach
  • the categories and approximate number of data subjects affected
  • the categories and approximate number of personal data records affected
  • a description of the likely consequences of the breach
  • a description of the measures taken by DEWETRON to address the breach and mitigate its effects
  • contact information for the Data Protection Officer or other relevant contact person

Public disclosure

In addition to that, DEWETRON will consider making a public disclosure on its website, providing information about the breach to affected customers and the general public. However, public disclosure will not be made in every case, but rather will be considered on a case-by-case basis, considering the severity and impact of the breach.

Public disclosure will typically be made in situations where the breach is likely to have a significant impact on a large number of data subjects, or where there is a high risk of harm to individuals, such as in the event of a major security incident. In such cases, DEWETRON will provide information about the breach on its website, including details about the nature of the breach, the measures being taken to address it, and any steps that affected individuals can take to protect themselves.

The decision to make a public disclosure will be made in accordance with the requirements of the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSGVO) and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and will take into account the potential benefits and risks of disclosure, including the potential impact on affected individuals and the potential for reputational harm.

 

10. CHANGES TO OUR PRIVACY POLICY

DEWETRON keeps its privacy policy under regular review and places updates on this web page. This privacy policy was last updated on December 30, 2024.

 

11. WHAT ARE YOUR DATA PROTECTION RIGHTS?

DEWETRON would like to make sure you are fully aware of all your data protection rights. Every user is entitled to the following:

The right to access
You have the right to request DEWETRON for copies of your personal data. We may charge you a small fee for this service.

The right to rectification
You have the right to request that DEWETRON correct any information you believe is inaccurate. You also have the right to request DEWETRON to complete the information you believe is incomplete.

The right to erasure
You have the right to request that DEWETRON erase your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to restrict processing
You have the right to request that DEWETRON restrict the processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to object to processing
You have the right to object to DEWETRON’s processing of your personal data, under certain conditions.

The right to data portability
You have the right to request that DEWETRON transfers the data that we have collected to another organization, or directly to you, under certain conditions.
