OXYGEN Software Upgrade & Update Policy

This policy outlines how DEWETRON defines major and minor versions of the OXYGEN software. Additionally, this policy describes the difference between update and upgrade options and the availability for the customer. DEWETRON reserves the right to amend the policy without notice and will update the latest version on www.dewetron.com.

Major Versions & Upgrades

A major version of the software is designated by the digits to the left in front of the first decimal (e.g. 5.0 for the major version 5). The release of a major software version may include architectural changes, functional enhancements, major features, bug fixes, etc. An upgrade is defined as the transition between two major versions such as the upgrade from version 3.0 to version 5.0*. This also includes any upgrades skipping one major version in between, such as the upgrade from version 2.0 to version 5.0*. When purchasing a DEWETRON system the current major version of the software at the time of delivery is installed. All upgrades and updates of any major and minor versions are included for 1 year from the date of purchase.

*Note: OXYGEN version 4.0 does not exist, thus the next major version release after 3.0 is version 5.0.

Minor Versions & Updates

A minor version of the software is designated by the digits to the right after the first decimal (e.g. 5.2 or 5.3) and is tied to the preceding major version. Several minor versions may be released within one major version without a specification of the number of minor versions. The release of a minor software version may include functional enhancements, major and minor features, bug fixes, etc. In general, a minor software release is issued every 3 – 5 months without warranty. An update is defined as the next minor version within the same major version, such as the update from version 5.2 to version 5.3. Minor version updates may also be skipped, e.g. the update from version 5.1 to version 5.3. All minor version updates within the same major version are freely available for the customer. A free update from the last issued minor version to the next major version (e.g. 3.7 to 5.0*) is not possible, but a chargeable upgrade is required.

*Note: OXYGEN version 4.0 does not exist, thus the next major version release after 3.0 is version 5.0.

Software Options

Software options can be purchased at any time by the customer. Software options premise at least the respective version (major and minor version) they are released with and can also be used for subsequent major and minor versions. For example, the software option Order Analysis was released with version 5.0, therefore, requires at least version 5.0 to be used, but this option can also be used in subsequent versions like 5.2, 5.3 or 6.0.

Maintenance

A maintenance option for the software includes free updates and upgrades to the latest available software versions, thus including minor and major versions, for the purchased period of time.
