This makes it possible to position measuring devices close to the DUT (Device Under Test) to keep cable lengths short and to control the measuring devices efficiently even in places that are difficult to access.<\/p>\n<p>Nowadays, there are a lot of possibilities to control measuring instruments remotely or to query values. A very common and easy to learn variant is SCPI (Standard Commands for Programmable Instruments). This whitepaper explains the basic definition of SCPI over TCP\/IP and how to send commands via SCPI using the Python programming language.
