DEWE-TR Series Overview
Transient recorders are distinct from data acquisition systems in a very important way: how they capture data. While DEWETRON multifunction data acquisition systems capture data continuously to an internal hard drive, DEWETRON transient recorders capture short bursts of data using hardware triggering. Due to the speed of the data, it must be captured directly on the A/D hardware itself, then is immediately transferred to the hard drive and displayed on-screen. This is an important paradigm difference between transient recorders and most other data acquisition systems from DEWETRON. |
Drastically Higher Speed Limit!
Unburdered by the speed limit imposed by the computer's data bus or hard drive systems, DEWE-TR systems can capture short duration events with sample rates as high as 500 MHz. We have a variety of Spectrum series A/D cards that range from 10 MHz/channel sampling and up, with various numbers of channels. You can combine these cards within a single DEWE-TR and build a system with, for example:

There are several kinds of DEWE-TR systems, as you will learn on the pages that follow. There are systems that record at up to 1 MHz per channel continuously to disk, and systems which record short duration events to RAM on MI series cards ... at rates into the hundreds of megahertz per channel!
