DEWE-5000 Series Overview
The DEWE-5000 is one of our most popular multifunction data acquisition platform by far, and it's easy to see why. It features the convenience of a notebook style design, where the display folds down and closes over the built-in keyboard when the system is not in use (you can also close it while the system is running if you like). It's rugged design and all-metal DEWETRON construction set it apart from today's "plastic" instruments, and provide superior RFI/EMI/EMR/ESD characteristics. Everything we make is built this way, and tested in our own lab for all of these parameters, as well as extreme temperature. Like all DEWETRON systems, the DEWE-5000 is a rugged, all-metal PC instrument with high quality plug-in signal conditioning, one or more internal A/D cards, and great software. Because it's a regular computer running Windows XP, you can load whatever software you like. It has a DVD-CD-RW drive as standard, so you can burn gigabytes of data to inexpensive media in minutes. Or use the standard Ethernet or USB 2.0 interfaces to transfer data to another computer. |

Choice of Models
The DEWE-5000 series is available in two basic models, as follows:
- DEWE-5000 - 16 slots for DAQ/PAD modules, for up to 16 dynamic input channels
- DEWE-5001 - Up to two x 16-ch MDAQ assemblies, for a total of 32 dynamic input channels
Ideal Applications:
- Benchtop data acquisition applications
- When you need 16 x DAQ or 32 x MDAQ inputs in one portable unit
- As an industrial computer (see the DEWE-5008 page)
Calibration Recommendation
The recommended calibration cycle on most Dewetron products is 12 months. Products which are used only in laboratory conditions may be eligible for a 24-month calibration cycle. But please plan for calibration in accordance with your own corporate or governmental requirements and/or regulations. Dewetron has certified calibration facilities in:
In Europe we calibrate according to ISO standards. In the USA we calibrate according to NIST standards. For customers who prefer to perform their own calibrations, there is a CAL-KIT available for purchase. Please contact your local Dewetron office to discuss your calibration options. |
