The DEWE-3100 is the original "DEWE-NOTEBOOK" computer. We searched the world looking at ruggedized notebooks, but we were always less than thrilled with the lack of hot-swappable batteries and a full-size PCI slot. No, not a little PCMCIA card slot -- a real PCI slot, so that both we and our customers could install whatever is needed. Another important criteria was all metal construction -- because our systems are used at the heart of data acquisition systems, we need the isolation and immunity from EMI/RFI that could interfere with your measurements.

The processor is a state of the art CoreDuo 2.0 GHz processor from Intel. Next, we install a notebook size HDD due to their smaller size, power requirements, and enhanced shock and vibration specifications. There is a standard size PCI slot inside, allowing a REAL A/D card to be used! Dual gigabit Ethernet interfaces, four USB 2.0 interfaces, Firewire IEEE-1394 and RS232 serial round out the interfaces.
