Dewetron Signal Conditioners

DEWETRON signal conditioning modules are available in a variety of configurations. they can be combined in countless ways, such as integrated with any of our PC-based instruments, or in separate chassis which serves as a front-end to any data acquisition system. Several distinct series of signal conditioners are available, as you will see below:

DAQ and MDAQ modules are for dynamic signals, while PAD, EPAD & LPAD modules are for static and quasi-static signals (not that LPAD can also handle dynamic signals up to a certain bandwidth).

DAQP-HV

DAQ modules are single-channel plug-in units for dynamic signals. They are available for just about every popular sensor and input type in use today. These include voltage from mV to kV, strain gages, accelerometers, thermocouples and RTD's (see all the PAD/EPAD/CPAD series for static and quasi-static voltage and temperature measurements), potentiometric, and current sensors.

Selection guide: when you need channel-by-channel modularity, the DAQ series are ideal. They can be swapped and changed anytime, even without powering down the system.
Alternatives: Use MDAQ module(s) if your channels are all or mostly alike.

MDAQ Signal Conditioning Amplifiers

MDAQ modules are essentially a small "cluster" of DAQ modules, in 8 or 16 channel increments. MDAQ modules can be built-in to a DEWETRON system or chassis - and they are also available as external modules which connect directly to one of the A/D cards in your DEWETRON system or another computer.

Selection guide: when you need a higher quantity of similar channels, and want maximum signal channel density. Cost per channel is also lower compared to DAQ modules.
Alternatives: Use DAQ modules if you require channel-by-channel modularity (i.e., something different on each channel).

PAD Programmable A/D with Signal Conditioning

PAD series modules have their own ADC's built into them, so they output data via RS485 (can be converted to RS232 or USB for connecting to any computer). PAD modules are form & fit compatible with DAQ series modules, and therefore plug into the same module slots in your DEWETRON system, DEWE-RACK, or DEWE-BOOK.

Selection guide: when you want to add a large number of static channels (especially temperature) and yet only occupy one slot for each of the 8 channels.
Alternatives: Choose EPAD modules if you prefer to keep these signals outside of the chassis - EPAD modules don't block DAQ module slots. OR add LPAD modules if you want a more rugged and higher bandwidth alternative to the EPAD.

EPAD External Programmable A/D with Signal Conditioning

EPAD modules are essentially external versions of the PAD-TH8-P and PAD-V8-P (see above), already integrated with a break-out box, all in one. Each EPAD provides 8 input channels, and models are available for thermocouple types J, K, and T, as well as VDC and low current via shunt resistors. EPAD modules connect to your DEWETRON system via the standard EPAD connector that they all have (since 2004), or via an RS232 or USB interface box available from DEWETRON, to any computer. Best of all, EPAD modules can be daisy-chained together, adding hundreds of channels to any system.

Selection guide: when you don't want to occupy any module slots with static signal PAD module(s). Alternative: if your environment is particularly tough, or you need more bandwidth than the PAD or EPAD series can provide, check out the LPAD series!

LPAD modules

LPAD modules are external modules that connect to your Dewetron system (or any computer) via Ethernet. There is a voltage module and a thermocouple module. The LPAD series is incredibly robust, allowing to mount them in the worst environments. LPAD modules can be daisy-chained together on Ethernet, adding hundreds of channels to any system...even connected at quite a distance from the acquisition system.

Selection guide: when you need to add static and dynamic inputs to your system, which are capable of being mounted in the worst environments. Alternative: if your environment is easier or you don't need high bandwidth, use the EPAD series instead.
