MSI "modular smart interfaces"
MSI "smart interfaces" (formerly called "ADAP converters") are intelligent plug-in modules that work with several MDAQ and DAQ series signal conditioners -- converting them to accept different sensors. For example, there are MSI's which plug into the MDAQ-SUB-STG-D and MDAQ-SUB-BRIDGE-D inputs, converting them from strain gage inputs to being to handle IEPE/constant current accelerometers ... or for voltages higher than the standard 10V that the strain gage modules can accept. We call them "smart interfaces" because they have a unique TEDS chip inside, which is automatically detected by the Dewetron system. DEWESoft acquisition software then makes it easy to set up the channel in the right engineering units, using this advanced technology -- it eliminates guesswork and human error to the greatest extent possible. Please see below for a matrix of the MSI's available, and their compatibility: |

These little "smart" interfaces are pure genius from Dewetron - allowing you to "repurpose" one input type into another!
