In 1989 the history of DEWETRON started in a garage with three people: Johanna and Franz Degen as well as Herbert Wernigg. They started as a distributor for PC components and measurement equipment. Soon it became clear that the combination of emerging PC market with measurement components would lead to a brighter future.

Initially still smiled at, the DEWETRON "PC data monitors and recorders" got established in various applications by their flexibility and efficiency. The components of measurement systems were developed step by step and the idea of “Lego logic” for data acquisition systems was born.  On basis of a building block principle it is possible to realize - - instruments for specific data acquisition tasks as well as customer specific solutions in a fast and flexible way.

Likewise it was early recognized that „the world will be a village in the future“ and DEWETRON began to work with customers and partners in all regions of this world. Now DEWETRON has more than 200 employees in more than 25 countries.

Since 1998 DEWETRON is a member of the AUGUSTA Technologie AG, which gave additional drive and impulses to the internationalization and extension of the business. In March 2009 the three founders left the company and a new management team lead by Roland Jeutter continues the successful story of DEWETRON.
