Imagine for example an electromotor. It must be checked for mechanical performance (RPM, torque), electrical performance with all analysis (voltage, current, power, efficiency, electrical troubles), for operational parameters like temperatures over longer time as well as sound and vibration, usually related to load and speed. Optional: synchronized image data from a camera improve the documentation and the understanding.
