Race Car Test
Universal and high dynamic systems to do more than one task
Testing race cars is a demanding and typically high pressure application. You have a limited amount of time with the car or the track, and a lot of data to acquire. Here are the key criteria related to this application:
- Very small form factor and wide DC operating power input
- DYNAMIC inputs with high bandwidth
- CAN bus interfaces for direct reading of vehicle parameters
- Video interface for synchronous video recording
- Easy to use software
There are other systems on the market which are made for static and slow measurements, and they do their job very well. But if you need powerful, easy to use systems with high bandwidth to capture the high dynamics of race cars, for example - up to 70 kHz or more. Look at DEWETRON systems with their flexibility and performance.
At right - a DEWE-101 installed within a Sprint Cup car for high dynamic track tests.
During the short test drives, your task is to check the car for mechanical performance (RPM, torque), electrical performance (voltage, current), for operational parameters like temperatures as well as sound and vibration, usually related to load and speed. Even as an option: synchronized image data from a camera to improve the documentation and the data interpretation.
DEWETRON systems are flexible and powerful enough to perform all these measurements at once saving valuable test time and cost.
